Staff
All of our staff are CRB checked and qualified first aiders. All our staff hold relevant childcare qualifications of NVQ or equivalent or are working towards a child care qualification. Also many of our members of staff hold other qualifications or have undergone training such as basic food and hygiene. Manager & Proprietor - Amanda Hudson has an NVQ level 3 child care qualification along with vast knowledge and experience of working with children and parents. She is also a first aider.
Full Time Staff
Manager - Ann Toplis has a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies and a BTEC National Diploma in Early Years with a wide range of experience of working with children and is a first aider. She has achieved the Early Years Professional status and has training in safeguarding children.
Supervisor - Valetta Duddy has achieved her NVQ 3 in Playwork. Valetta has had lots of experience in working alongside children as for a number of years she was a volunteer with the scouts association, she also holds a PSV Licence to drive the minibus and has qualifications in both food safety and paediatrics first aid and training in safeguarding children and health and safety. In her spare time Valetta is a volunteer working to assist and help vulnerable women.
Play Worker - Jenny Loftus has a NVQ level 3 Child Care qualification and is also a first aider. Jenny also has completed derby city council courses of child protection. Jenny is a very caring playworker who enjoys spending time and talking to the children.
Play Worker - Vicky Gregory has an NVQ in childcare. Vicky gets along very well with all the children and is extremely good at building relationships between the children.
Play Worker - Louise Richardson has a BTEC National Diploma in Early Years giving her hands on experience of working with children. Louise has also achieved a BA (Hons) in Education Studies.
Play Worker - Playworker Rebecca Noy has a degree in Textile Design and qualifications in Paediatrick First Aid and Autism Awareness . She is also about to complete her NVQ Level 3 Playwork.
Play Worker – Bernie Duddy has an NVQ Level 3 playwork and works at our allestree setting. She also drives the minibus.
Play Worker – Gary Davey is our sports coach at breakfast and after school club in allestree, he plans all the sporting activities that the children participate in.
Valued Volunteers
Barry our "Big Blue Bus Fun" driver. He helps take all our Portway, Curzon and Walter Evans children to school, working with all our Playworkers.
Holiday Staff
Play Worker - Vicky Slater holds a DCE Level 3 Diploma in Child Care & Education and has had an array of experience working with many different age ranges and settings. Vicky also holds a PCV Licence to drive our minibus and is a first aider.
Play Worker & Sports Coach - Julia Muldoon is a qualified Physical Education Teacher of Key Stage 3 and has lots of experience of encouraging children to enjoy and be competitive within sport.
Play Worker - Giselle Moor. Gisselle is a Playworker starting July 2010. Everyone is excited about Gisselle starting as a playworker as she used to come to the club as a child and has helped out over the years. She will be working closely on the cool projects we have planned for the summer holidays.
Play Worker - Lee Martin is a qualified sport coach in football, volleyball, basketball and badminton. He is also studying a BA Honours degree in Film and Video Production.
Play Worker – Tom Ellison is another one of our holiday club sports coaches, he plans lots of fun sporting activities for the children to join in with.
Kilburn Staff
Play Worker - Hayley Sharpe has a level 3 NVQ Teaching Assistant qualification. She is the supervisor and also prepares the tea at our Kilburn setting. She holds certificates in food hygiene and health and safety and relates well to both the children and the parents. She also has training in looking after children with autism.
Play Worker - Judith Hayden - Jude has an NVQ level 3 in teaching assistant and also works at a local primary school.
Play Worker - Marie Goodacre has a level 3 Cache Diploma in Childcare and Education and is starting her training for level 4 in September 2010. Marie is a qualified first aider and has completed training in Safeguarding children and health and safety.
